Company Evangelist

We are looking for a creative, out-the-box thinking Company Evangelist to join our growing team.

“What is a Company Evangelist?” you may be asking. This newly created position will report directly to the CEO and become the face of the company, spearheading a special team responsible for attracting and acquiring the best and brightest into DarkVision. You’ll create, manage and execute the strategies that allow DarkVision to appropriately position itself as the employer of choice for talented engineers, managers, product people and general technology enthusiasts in Vancouver.

The right person for this role will be a people person, with a keenness for marketing, and a general curiosity about technology. We want someone who will come to the table with unique and creative ideas on how we can continue to grow our employer brand. In many ways, this could be considered a sales and marketing role, except you will be selling the company instead of a product. You’ll be deeply immersed and knowledgeable about DarkVision; therefore, you will be able to speak with credibility, confidence, and conviction about DarkVision’s technology, market opportunities, growth trajectory, strategies and inner workings of the company’s unique culture.

You’ll have significant resources at your disposal from the engineering, marketing and product teams, and will be highly supported by the leadership of DarkVision as you build out the talent pipeline. Other titles we had considered for this role include Talent Frontman, Employer Propagandist, and Talent Wrangler.

This position will include a blend of talent acquisition, employer positioning, and events management responsibilities, including:

  • Working with People & Culture Leader to clearly define company culture, identify key hiring needs, and establish a strategic plan to address talent gaps.
  • Actively pursue identified talent.
  • Partnering with our Marketing team to brainstorm & develop compelling employer branding materials that highlight DarkVision’s culture and employer value proposition.
  • Planning and executing university and industry events, representing DarkVision to the local technology talent market.
  • Fostering relationships with local University and Industry group organizers to secure advertising and sponsorship opportunities where appropriate.
  • Identifying new and novel ways to promote DarkVision as an employer of choice.

  • Prior experience working within the Vancouver tech industry is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • People naturally like you – charming, charismatic, well-spoken etc.
  • Above average technical aptitude and an interest in technology.
  • Willingness to push limits, try unconventional approaches, take risks etc. Not filled with corporate clichés, vague “feel-good” statements or other ineffective platitudes.
  • Unafraid to pick up the phone and actively approach targeted talent.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary or higher (Top $ for top talent)
  • Full benefits package.
  • Up to 8 weeks of vacation (Yes, you read that correctly!)
  • Flexible work environment.
  • Lots of autonomy, exciting work, and industry-leading technology.
