Research Scientist (Ultrasound)
We are looking for a curious and motivated researcher/scientist to join our R&D team and participate in the development of our upcoming ultrasound based products. The right candidate is a creative individual who is passionate about solving real-world problems, and has a strong theoretical background in ultrasound, especially in its use for industrial applications. The position will focus on scientific research, including theoretical validation, simulation, and experimentation of different ultrasound modes and methodologies.
This position will provide you with an opportunity to explore and design innovative imaging ideas and concepts from ideation all the way into development, verification, and validation in real-world. You will be working in a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers who work on state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging solutions. The ideal candidate is both scientific minded and pragmatic. Someone who has the desire to work and grow in a fast-paced technology environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related fields.
- Understanding ultrasound-based Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) applications.
- Understanding of ultrasound imaging techniques and beamforming algorithms (FMC/PWI, TFM).
- Understanding of different signal processing and image processing algorithms.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or other scientific programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with software and algorithm development.
- Hands-on experience running simulations and experiments to validate ideas.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with ultrasound research systems such as Verasonics or SARUS.
- Experience with industrial ultrasound simulation software such as CIVA or k-Wave.
- Familiarity with industrial ultrasound scanners such as OmniScan.
- Hands-on experience with software and algorithm development for industrial ultrasound scanners.
- Comfortable with C/C++ programming.
- NDT Ultrasonic certifications.
- Relevant portfolio (past projects and publications) related to ultrasound imaging.
