We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will bring prior experience working on high-tech electromechanical projects in a fast-paced environment. 

The successful candidate will join our high-performing team of Engineers and Technologist working on our industry-leading imaging technologies. Demand for DarkVision's products and services has grown significantly, and your efforts will help ensure we scale our manufacturing and implement best-in-class processes to help meet this demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, setup and maintain production lines using LEAN principles, removing inefficiencies in the manufacturing processes.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Work with cross functional teams on NPI and production transfer activities including work instructions and BOMs creation, coordinating validation build, conduct FAA & IQC, and manufacturing training.
  • Manage problem reports, drive root cause analysis, and oversee corrective actions using 8D methodology.
  • Manufacturing support, including material review board, manufacturing process improvement, component EOL support, production escalation, etc. Acts as the liaison between Manufacturing and R&D to escalate issues as required.
  • Drive DFMA design reviews and conduct design improvements utilizing knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and process capabilities.
  • Perform process capability studies on critical manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop detailed cycle time and process flow models for our current manufacturing processes, develop strategies for removing bottlenecks.
  • Create workflow, space requirements, and equipment layouts.
  • Create product and process KPIs by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Expectations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years working experience in a similar role in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with document control systems, BOM management, and project/task/milestone scheduling and tracking.
  • Experience with ERP and PLM systems.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes involving high precision mechanical, electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Familiar with MS Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software, reading of mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in developing manufacturing floor plan layouts
